The school had a blazer handover ceremony on Wednesday the 16th of May, handed over by our principal Me. Charlie. Our leaders also received their badges, we have Dylan Mouton (Headboy), Aviwe Jwayi (Headgirl), Moiloa Thatohatsi (Deputy Headboy), Nyakallo Kokoane (Deputy Headgirl).
GALINO HOUSE EDUCATIONAL VISIT
On the 31st of May Galino House visited our school to come and educate our learners about the harmful substances of Tobacco. The learners were also able to ask question about it and engage with the Galino House members.
The 22nd of August 2023 we had a visit from the NG Kerk, as they came to bless the grade 7 learners with new bibles and a few scriptures were read as introductory to the bible.
The 1st of September 2023 we had an entrepreneurs day where the learners were put into teams and judged by our schools HOD'S and our deputy principals.
In the spirit of Mandela Day, On 31 July our school demonstrated its commitment to giving back to the community by donating a substantial amount of food and clothing to the Talitha Cumi baby house organisation, a local charity dedicated to supporting those in need. The schools leaders committee, learners and teachers came together to collect non-perishable food items and gently used clothing, which were then presented to the organisation in a heartwarming ceremony.
Our school recently held its annual spelling bee competition, with learners from grade 4-7 showcasing their linguistic skills. The event held on 13 August saw Intersen participants vying for the top spot.
The school hosted its annual career day, giving the learners the opportunity to explore various profession and spark their future aspirations. The event held brought together various professional from diverse fields. The event aimed to broaden the learner’s horizons, encouraging them to consider various career paths and the skills required to succeed
Our School held an exciting mental math competition, putting learners calculation to the test. The event held from the 26-29 August, aimed to promote mental math abilities, problem solving strategies, and healthy competition among learners. All learners from Grade 4 -7 participated in the competition, showcasing their calculation prowess in various categories including basic arithmetic, mental calculation and math challenges. The top five winners in each grade where chosen as the winners.
Fauna fosters Young Entrepreneurs with Grade 7 Entrepreneur Day
Fauna hosted an exciting Entrepreneurs Day specifically designed for Grade 7 learners. The event held, on 06 September, aimed to inspire and empower young minds to think creatively and develop essential skills for success in the business world. Entrepreneur Day demonstrated its commitment to providing learners with real-world experiences and skills, preparing them for future success. The event’s impact will be felt for years to come, inspiring a new generation of entrepreneurs and innovators
On 05 February 2025, our school celebrated Read Aloud Day, a special event that brought together students, teachers, and staff to share the joy of reading.
Throughout the day, classrooms and common areas were filled with the sound of voices reading aloud from favorite books, poems, and stories. Students and teachers took turns reading to each other, exploring new worlds, characters, and ideas.
The event aimed to promote a love of reading, improve literacy skills, and foster a sense of community among students and staff.
On 21 February 2025, our school hosted its annual Spelling Bee competition, bringing together top spellers from each grade level to showcase their linguistic skills. The event, moderated by Mrs Jacobs, saw more than 100 learners participate in a thrilling contest that tested their knowledge of word origins, meanings, and spellings. The competition was fierce, with students demonstrating exceptional spelling abilities and poise under pressure. After several rounds, winners in grade 4 - 7 emerged as the champions.
On 20 March 2025, our school celebrated World Storytelling Day, a global event that honors the ancient tradition of sharing stories. To mark this special day, learners and teachers gathered for a morning of storytelling. The event featured a range of tales, from traditional folk stories to personal anecdotes and imaginative fiction.
The success of World Storytelling Day has inspired plans for a school storytelling club, where students can continue to share and develop their storytelling skills.
